28th July 2004 Windsurfing: Vassiliki Wind Direction: WNW Wind Stength: F6-7 Surf / Sea State: Chop Air Temperature: Hot Sea Temperature: Warm Weather: Sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: After the complete lack of wind yesterday this afternoon came back with a vengeance. They had a photographer and video on the platform for our benefit. A couple in the group were determined to forward loop even though the water was pretty flat, looking at the video it seemed to be a series of painful body slams without getting the board out of the water. Started with a F2 Stoke 125 and a Disco 6.4 but changed down to a F2 Ride 260 and a Disco 5.9 pretty quickly. Soon went down to a Superstar 5.3 and a Style 255 and launched myself into a series of 360's and Vulcans. Pulled of a decent 360 only to look up to find the camera on someone else but got a decent Vulcan attempt on film. It appears my problem is not having my feet far enough in the straps. Sailed until I was stupidly overpowered and I couldn't hold on anymore - an excellent day. |
